Mission

On this page you will find details about our parish support for a number of projects; in particular
The Childrens Society | Cross Links | Caring & Sharing | Loaf Project

The Children's Society

The Children's Society has always sought to ensure that whatever disadvantages a child faces they still have a real chance in life.

Their vision is that together we can create a world that loves all children unconditionally, and where children are free to be children.

Currently they are focusing on four groups: children at risk on the streets, children in trouble with the law, disabled children and young refugees.

Crosslinks

Crosslinks is an international mission agency with its roots in the Bible and its principal sphere of operations in the worldwide Anglican Communion.

Crosslinks supports workers across cultural and other boundaries. They co-operate with churches and mission and relief agencies, sponsor students and encourage mission links worldwide.

Caring & Sharing (East Sussex)

The Caring and Sharing scheme was started in 1982 by the former Bishop of Lewes, Peter Ball. it was based on two ideas: one that by making a small sacrifice members can turn away from the material values of the wetern world; the other that they can share their comparative wealth by sending the savings from this small sacrifice to projects in poorer countries which help to provide the basic needs of life.

The sacrifice is not expected to be a major one. It is in its regularity that it grows in value. A digestive biscuit costs only a few pence, but 5p per day amounts to more than £18 a year, and such sums given regularly help the Caring & Sharing group to send about £100,000 a year to various projects.

The Loaf Project

The LOAF Project aims to bring substantial improvement to the lives of people in some of the poorest communities in the world.

We cannot totally change the world - but by working together, the people of Hastings and surrounding area can do things which bring substantial benefit to some of the world’s poorest people and also act as a visible declaration of Christ’s love to those in the town who are not members of the church.
