Children & Young People
Sunbeams
The church sponsors a weekly club for parents, carers, babies and toddlers. “Sunbeams” takes place every Thursday during school terms in the Parish Hall, from 1.30 pm to 3.15 pm. The club provides plenty of play equipment and games, as well as tea for the adults.
The church subscribes to the Child Protection Policy of the Diocese of Chichester. All helpers make confidential declarations and all leaders are checked by the Criminal Records Bureau.
Young People take an active part in services including helping out at some sunday services as sidesmen, or reading the prayers or the lesson. Also they can sometimes assist with bell ringing or taking the collection.
Admission to Holy Communion. Our policy in this church is to accept children to be prepared to receive Holy Communion from the age of 7 upwards, but to delay confirmation until adulthood. The preparation takes place during Lent, so that first communion can be received at Easter. If there are any children who would like to start receiving communion, please speak to Evan. A course of preparation for 2010 begins on 25th February 2010.
Youth Club. Usually held on either the first or second Thursday in Month. 7pm to 9pm. Youth Club for children age 11 to 16 years. See Westfield Calendar for details.
